Mandrel Bending Devices

Mandrel Bending Devices support accurate bends of hollow profiles without crushing or wave formation. By supporting profiles from the inside during the bending process, mandrels prevent material deformations and deliver accurate and repeatable bending results.

PBT offers a range of manual and CNC mandrel bending devices with varying levels of pressure force:

• Manual Mandrel Bending Device
  This device, with 2m, 3m or 6m lengths, can bend hollow profiles of differing radii in a single pass. This is a passive system that relies on the friction of the bend tools to pull the profile though the mandrel and machine.
• MBD 1500 (CNC-Controlled)
  This device, with 2m, 3m or 6m lengths, can bend hollow profiles of differing radii in a single pass, and allows bending very small radii without distortion. The feed pressure is automatically synchronized with the speed of the bending machine, minimizing distortion of parts with small radii while maximizing accuracy and repeatability. With 1500 kN of pressure force and lengths of 2m, 3m or 6m, these devices are simple to install and easy to remove for parts that do not require a mandrel.
• MBD 4000 (CNC-Controlled)
  This device offers the same benefits and the MBD 1500 but delivers 4000kN of pushing force and up to a 6m length.
