Boschert Introduces “CU-Profi” Copper Buss Bar Punching Center
BUTLER, Wis., Boschert Precision Machinery, Inc. is again expanding its product
line of precision fabricating machinery, even as many machine tool producers are
experiencing a slow down and are contracting.
BOSCHERT has introduced the CU-Profi machine for processing copper bus bar.
The CNC punching and shearing machine is designed specifically for the accurate
and economical production of copper and aluminum bars for the electrical equipment industry.
The CU-Profi is an addition to the CU series of machines from Boschert and
offers a small footprint, lower cost and higher punching speeds than competitive
machines. The CU-Profi is aimed at the small to mid-size producers of copper
and aluminum bus bar products.
Boschert's market research found that small to mid-size producers of bar
could not justify the cost of very large copper bar systems on the market, but
could also not be productive enough punching and shearing bar on machines
designed for sheet work.
The CU-Profi machine fills the gap with the right mix of features, capacity and
accuracy at an affordable cost. The CU-Profi features 45 tons of punching force,
thick turret style tooling with punch sizes to 1/1/4" diameter, a shear station and parts
unloading station as standard. The unique material clamping system eliminates
end-of-bar waste making the machine even more economical.
The CU-Profi has been well accepted; orders for more than ten machines were
accepted before the prototype was built. Boschert will be installing the first machine
in the US this spring at a Midwest supplier of lightning protection devices.
